   For my list of Finnish startups I first considered using CrunchBase or Tradevibes, but there are only about a dozen Finnish companies in each site. I suspect that this would be the same for most European startups.

   If you can get all the European startups to join Crunchbase then that would be better of course.

   Great list. Seems like a lot is happening in Finland. It would also be cool if The Next Web could give it a grade based on the possibility of success.
   The grade should be adjustable over time though…

   You’ll be happy to know that ArcticStartup is already hard at work on a Nordic and Baltic wide ‘CrunchBase’ and it should come out very soon.

   We’ve been trying to get an understanding of all the startups across the Baltic and Nordic countries ourselves and felt that a common directory could help out everybody.

   Will let you guys know as soon as we get it out.

   Good question!

   We don’t necessarily want to limit it to Northern-Europe, but will focus our resources to those startups because we follow Northern-European startups at ArcticStartup itself. Thus, by focusing on Northern Europe in everything we do we aim to provide more value for our readers.

   At the end of the day the choice goes back to why we started blogging in the first place:

   “We at ArcticStartup aim to encourage entrepreneurship and to help create a radically optimistic entrepreneurial culture here in the Nordics and Baltics by writing about the startups, the stories behind them and the events that influence them.”

    Hi,

    you’ll find quite good coverage of Finnish high-tech start-ups from our web site. Web 2.0 companies are not a separate category, but would mainly be listed under category ICT - Software. Bear with me - the engine is awful - but we are working on a tenfold improvement over this listing.
